Re: Did Ian Thorpe Overglide?

Hey Paul, What is happening, are you serious? You cant attack like that without knowing one's intention. I have never accused you/yourself personally! On the other hand, you have known that English is not my mother tongue. You could have considered it as a "shoutbox item", why havent you, ...

Re: Nightcrawler's 2017 Season

Each style is equally valid and has pros and cons inside it. But one should naturally suit us more than the other, needed to be identified which one works best for us. KNP's stroke technique is close to my visualization, I like throwing arm recovery, high elbow catch and pull through under the water...

Re: Nightcrawler's 2017 Season

You know all the drills available as a coach yourself. If you still believe in drills, maybe this one; Hold your hand and forearm inline like KPN advises, making one big paddle from elbow to fingertup with a firn wrist until the arm reaches breast height, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZO738a8WQw...

Re: Nightcrawler's 2017 Season

You should not take my opinion too seriously, but to my untrained eye your pull is too long at the push phase. Doesn't look natural, especially the left hand. Thanks advio, unfortunately this is my all day pace approx. 15% slower than my 5k race pace with my natural stroke. You are right, both hand...

Re: Did Ian Thorpe Overglide?

According to swim smooth there is a term called overgliding. But until watching the ss masterclass catch dvd, I have never heard about this term in my 33+ years background neither from my trainers nor any swimmers, can swim types be a big marketing fake? Ian Thorpe is surely kicking strong and glidi...

Very interesting subject. In my experience, "To become effortless requires maksimum effort". But moreover, after becoming effortles, you stay at the plateau for a while although you struggle with the same effort and then your performance starts to decrease unless you spend extra effort or ...

Re: Cottmiler in Perth 2016

Hi Cottmiler, I see that band drill has given you excellent timing of the stroke. IMHO, you should better work on the following issues for progression: 1. you have very high head position, do NAD drill 2. your right hand entry is soft and middle finger is not extending forward in line with shoulder,...

Re: Nightcrawler's 2017 Season

Hi Salvo,
I havent read the Swim Smooth book, I watched master class DVD 4 years ago, it has changed my mind. If you send me SS book's direct link I can order it.

Yeah, sub 1:10 for 5K satisfies me!
