Re: video of me. please comment

the main difference I see is that they hit the water with more oomph, as if their arms were heavier than yours (but in fact it's not). This also produce the typical sound which is a trademark of fast swimming. I usually never see fast swimmers who hit the water silently and gently. This is a very g...

Re: video of me. please comment

I have those finis paddles and I love them. No falling off. Not even close. They just feel natural. And in medium they are not too big so I can keep rhythm.

They make me about 2-3 sec faster per 100m. Is that normal? Maybe my grip on the water is not good enough.

Re: video of me. please comment

Thank you all! :D But now the quick wins are gone. Do you have a sporting background? For example, what speed you can maintain on a bike going as fast as possible for say half an hour non-stop? I did licensed road bike races for 15 years. All there is. But my main Sport for 30 years was icehockey. D...

And you are putting on the brakes with that left arm' Right. The thump is sticking out also. What connection do you feel between kcik and spear ans/or pull? or is it just someting fluttering on the background? it´s just something fluttering back there. My conciousness starts with my hips. Re: video of me. please comment

So well, that's already something. I think it is just not so easy to further improve. A certain level is reached, and it seems quite natural to plateau for even several years.. I guess, you could be right. Age is catching up. 49years. What about a camp? I have been two times at http://www.t3-traini...

Re: video of me. please comment

At the time of the Video I was flirting with loping. So maybe that´s where the shorter right stroke and the lesser rotation on one side comes from. When I started Swimming in 2013 i did bilateral breathing and had a very low frequency. I tried to raise the spm since then. the right hand: my right wr...

Re: video of me. please comment

thanks a lot! These are some very good hints.. right arm recovery: So there´s too little rotation, right? I have to rotate more aggressively like in the videos. Actually when I did this in the late summer, it felt like loping. But I don´t really see it on film. kicking: I don´t pay any attention to ...

Since there´s so much Swimming wisdom around here, i´d like to share a Video of my stroke with you. Maybe there´s something obvious, besides my awkward right hand entry. I´m uncoached so far. So this is raw. :D This is my introduction: http://www.swimsmoothforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5&sta...

Re: Progress report

I just did another open water competition yesterday. It was advertised as 3300m an my GPS logged 3450m, which seams reasonably. I finished at 52:06min, which is a pace of 1:30,6min/100m. This is about 2sec faster than 2015 at this event. So there is Progress! :D BTW: The 12x word Champion Thomas Lur...

Re: 200m in 23m pool

I use a Garmin Swim watch and the lap count is spot on.

When i still used open turns, there was some difficulty with the timing of the turn.
e.g. 2 lanes 50sec total, 25sec per lane would be shown as 23sec+27sec.

Now using only tumble turns, everything is fine.

Re: Progress report

My open water competition was a Little set back. I hoped to swim faster, but this time I had a lot of trouble Swimming straight. The water was real cloudy this time, so i couldn´t see the other guys underwater. In my first 2 ow competitions last year, i basically just followed other feet and didn´t ...

Re: Tumble turn - out of breath

Thanks for this link to the race Club.

Yesterday I tried this breathing pattern coming out of tumble turns, and it worked great.

A whole lane of 1 breath per stroke is to shaky, since there is so much rotation going on.
And I havn´t tried this 2 out of 3 pattern yet.
