Waterproof Headphones and Radio

Postby Olivier Cloet » Sun Aug 17, 2014 9:01 pm

In this video about drafting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r99sWP ... ov_GAtVPkw) with Tim Don, Paul is using a waterproof radio system to correct Tim's pace while Tim is swimming.

Does anybody have an idea where to this piece of high tech coaching can be found?
I have been searching to the depts of the internet to find a place or website where they sell such a system, but my efforts have been fruitless...

Keep on swimming!
Olivier

It's called the 'talk2Me Coach underwater headset'. Not sure where you get it from though.

Hi Olivier,

Good to know that there are other Flemish triatlon coaches around here ;)

You can buy these from Swim Smooth but I guess they are sold out for now (http://www.swimsmooth.com/buyheadset).
Price was 179 GBP (excl shipping costs).

Paul used this tool in the coaches education course I was attending earlier this year and it's indeed a very good tool to improve your communication.

Hi guys,

Here another young Flemish tri-coach :)
I bought the underwater system too and indeed, it's a great piece of technology. Works great!
But I've never seen it before in a Belgian pool, so we're 'innovative' ;-)

Cheers

Hey guys,

Persoanlly I'd go for the Swimbuds SPORT. They sound good underwater and are pretty durable. Otherwise, the Sony Walkman is not a bad choice as a cheaper option.

There's alot of stuff on amazon but can find a list of waterproof headphones for swimming here - they're pretty decent and cheap.

#1 is about a headphone that transmits sound through your checkbone to your ears underwater, which is pretty cool :D

Personally, I use Diver brand underwater headphones and they are amazing! Would recommend for anyone who wants to swim underwater while jamming to tunes! My Divers are #2 on HeadphoneCharts' list of waterproof headphones, so that is a ringing endorsement! http://www.headphonecharts.com/best-waterproof-headphones.php

finding a good pair of earbuds for swimming that stay in your ears while swimming isnt always easy but if you look around on amazon you can find a bunch for a reasonable price.

We recently did some research and came up with possible candidates as well. The list Artizen found is great, but if you want some additional options go ahead and check out our list of underwater headphones. The Swimbuds SPORT made the top of our list.

Swimbuds SPORT is obviously the best bet when it comes to swimming. I can't agree with it anymore. As far as I know, this is one of the only headphones with IPX8 ratings along with Hydroactive series. I think you would find this article I found on the web while researching useful. http://www.headphonesbuzz.com/best-wate ... -swimming/
