Anyway, if I just swam only, there is no way I'd see this sort of performance boost. Even with the knowledge of "how-to" swim, I can't seem to make significant changes in the water. But I've applied that knowledge to my dryland work - which then has been thoroughly realized in the water.
My point being - by swimming alone, I don't care how much distance, would not have had this substantive and measurable effect. And I am currently not swimming that much. It's been 1-1.5K per day if that. But I do swim 2x per day with a solid, uninterrupted focus on stuff.
These are my results/observations from this summer.
