Hey all,
Firstly I apologize if there is already a thread like this. I did briefly look but didn't find one.
I have literally been swimming for 2 weeks. However was an elite athlete (completely different sport) for 10 years or so.
My aim now is to swim a fast 50m eventually.
My question is for reference purposes really.
I have watched many videos and can see that during the fastest 50yard swim ever the swimmer went around 9 seconds (with a dive) during the first lap and 10 seconds (off a flip turn) on the way back.
I am currently able to swim 13-14 seconds with no dive and no push off (just starting on the wall and swimming the entire 25 yard lap). How does this fair for a beginner? What kind of improvement is normal over the first few months here? How much should the dive decrease my first lap time?
Thank you all
I am 1.86m, 85kg.
