Swingers Club

Postby Peanutbutterwolf » Thu Feb 14, 2013 12:04 am

Hello, fellow swingers!!!

I'll start by posting some of my favorite members of our interesting and frustrating (to coaches) type:

Yuri Prilukov: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcMwb_QHn8s

Arthur Frayler: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIpbl9m8F7c

Job Kienhuis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOpqDSJk5p

Gregorio Paltrinieri: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV_10f1qv_U

All of these guys are certified bada**s!

That's awesome material, thanks for posting this, and sorry for having left this thread unanswered for so long. Lots of discussions are happening in the other (general discussion) room at the moment.

Thanks again! Very inspiring to see these hyperactive unfocused by yet very fast swingers (a breed that I often fails to understand).

You're quite welcome! The smooth type is hard for me to understand! I can swim that way, but to me, it's unnatural! The beauty of freestyle is that everyone has a unique stroke. Here in the US, where short course yards are the rule, these differences are even more pronounced.

Yep, very well said!

How long have you been swimming? Do you compete in Masters? USMS is very very strong, nice network, fantastic coaching.

With NBAC since age 13; I do the occasional masters meet here and there, as well as open waters in the Chesapeake.

NIce clips, great swimmers, but I still like the style of mr Pannier with the blue pants from the Gregorio Paltrinieri clip most, even if it is unnatural. :)

Maybe a bit too much glide for a real swinger, but very good swimmer and a great battle.

120 spm towards the end, and never much below 110. That ain't no overglider. ;)

Meanwhile, on our end of the ocean, it appears that "swinging" is not the cure to everything, based on this loss at the last prov champ's 400 free

Conversions take time. It's worth noting that the whole weekend is to forget. A sinusitis had prevented us from correctly preparing for this weekend. This swimmer swam faster over the first 400m of a 800m race earlier this season.

Arthur Frayler went to Pan Ams ready to race. And he did that, and more, winning a gold in the pool and a silver in open water, the latter of which came as everyone celebrated the life of his former teammate Fran Crippen.
